Parent’s Music Information Night

Monday, September 12, at 6:00 PM. Parents of students in grades 4 – 8 can learn about the music program and rent instruments.  It is not necessary for BCS former music students to attend.

Back to School Night

Monday, September 12, at 7:00 PM.  Come to hear your child’s teacher talk about this year’s program and expectations.  Teachers will give 2 20-minute presentations (7:00 and 7:25) to allow for parents of more than one child to attend each class.  This meeting is a MUST for parents!  We encourage both parents/guardians to attend!  Please note:  this is NOT an Open House night, so please either keep your children with you, or leave them with a babysitter.  Thank you!

Safety Issues

The school doors are kept locked during the school day for safety reasons. Please ring the doorbell for someone to let you in the building. You need to check in with the school office when you enter the building. Thank You!

Any student that is tardy (after 8:05AM) must be signed in by an adult to be admitted to class. Please come into the building to sign in your child if he or she is tardy.

Please send in a note to your child’s teacher if he or she is going home by a different mode of transportation. We will not take a child’s word for a change in transportation. All changes must be made in writing, email, or by telephone call by a parent BY 1:30. Thank you!

PeaceBuilders!

Dear Parents and Guardians,

This week in chapel, we talked about being PeaceBuilders.  Our students helped perform a short skit to help teach the basic concepts of PeaceBuilding:

  • Praise People
  • Give Up Put-Downs
  • Seek Wise People
  • Notice Hurts
  • Right Wrongs
  • Help Others

We ask for your help and support with your children in teaching these concepts.  This week, help your children to seek out times to praise others – and to be genuine in their praise!  Then you can encourage them as they are bearing the fruit of love and joy!  (Remember our theme verse from Colossians 1:9-12)

We also have an opportunity to help others this week.  Many of our students have heard about the victims of Hurricane Katrina, and need a forum to help in the humanitarian effort.  Tomorrow, we are sponsoring a dress-down day to help raise funds to send to World Vision International.  We ask each family to contribute to this effort.  Our suggested donation is $2.00 per family, but any amount will be accepted.  if you wish a tax-deductible receipt, please write a check to World Vision International, and they will issue receipts for checks made out to their organization.  Perhaps your child would like to work on a project at home to raise money to send.  We will not send the funds until Wednesday, September 14, so any additional amounts may be sent in until then.  Our chapel offering today will also be sent to World Vision.

On another note, we are purposely working to improve communication between BCS and our families.  Please check your child’s Wednesday packet each week!    Our newsletters will also be published on our website, so you can read the latest news – and share it with others!

As always, our office is available for any questions, or you may email me throughout the day at kihodges@brocktonchristian.com

Thank you for allowing us to be a part of your child’s life this year!

Wednesday Packets

Thank you for returning the information in the Wednesday packets!  We appreciate the prompt return of all the emergency information and lunch orders.

Please put each child’s lunch order on a separate slip to aid in our lunch count, and put the exact change in the envelope if at all possible.  This makes our bookkeeping much easier!

You may also use the Wednesday packets to send information to your child’s teacher or to the school office.  (Student agendas may also be used for teacher contact!)

Financial Information

All curriculum and consumable fees were due in August.  If you have not paid these yet, please remit immediately.

AfterCare bills will be sent home each Wednesday, along with any newsletters or office correspondence.  Please check your child’s backpack each Wednesday!

Any accounts that are 60 days in arrears will result in your child being withheld from class or AfterCare.  We appreciate your prompt payment of any bills, as that allows us to pay our bills and staff!

Tuition accounts must be paid within ten days of the due date, or a $25.00 late fee will be assessed to your account.

We're Collecting!

This year, we are working hard to collect things that you might already have at home!

We have three major ongoing fundraising programs:  Box Tops for Education, Campbell’s Labels for Education, and computer ink jet cartridges.  We would appreciate if you would send any of these our way, as we are able to turn them in for money and educational supplies that we would not otherwise be able to fund.  Thank you!
